Tracy graduated from Baylor University in 1983 with an accounting degree. After passing the CPA exam, he opened his own practice and worked as a tax professional for thirty-plus years. Because his wife, Elaine, was a Certified Financial Planner, they opend a financial planning practice together in 1998. Besides working as fincnail advisors , Tracy and Elaine also designed various workbooks that they used at seminars they held at churches. Until 2014, all vocatinal plans revolved around the financial industry.
However, those plans changed when Tracy suffered a traumatic brain injury from a hit-and-run accident during a bicycling workout while training for a Half Ironman triathlon in August, 2014. An ongoing challenge from the TBI he suffered is his greatly dimished reading capabilties which prevents him from continuing to practice in the financial fields. People have asked how Tracy can write when it’s such a struggle to read. Elaine’s non-medical explanation is as follows, “Processing information and reading are “inflow” issues while speaking and writing are “outflow” items. Tracy’s inflow capabilties was damaged while his outflow abilties remain in tact.”
